What Is Erectile Dysfunction (ED)?

Erectile dysfunction (ED) is when a man cannot get an erection or cannot maintain an erection long enough to have intercourse. ED can become more of an issue as you get older. Only about 5% of men age 40 have it, but 15% of men age 70 according to www.webmd.com

The Mechanics of ED

You get an erection when blood fills two chambers known as the corpora cavernosa. This causes your penis to expand and stiffen, much like a balloon as it is filled with water. Impulses from the brain and genital nerves start the process. Anything that blocks these impulses or restricts blood flow to the penis can cause ED.

What causes ED?

Type 2 diabetes, obesity and high blood pressure all make it more likely, but these illnesses can be diet or stress related and can be treated with healthy eating habits, gentle exercises and meditation.

Lifestyle choices can also contribute to ED. Smoking, heavy drinking, and drug use disorder can damage the blood vessels and reduce blood flow to your penis. Being overweight and getting too little exercise also raise your odds.

Another big factor in ED is stress. Everyone experiences stress, but, when stress persists, the body begins to break down and problems like erectile dysfunction can occur. The key to coping with stress is identifying those conditions in your life causing the stress and learning ways to reduce them.

What Causes Stress?

Stress can be caused many different things: Job, deadlines, loss off a job, loss of loved ones, money problems, relationship problems, divorce, confrontations, etc. Your body reacts to these challenges with physical, mental, and emotional responses.

What are the first signs of stress?

  • Irritability
  • Anger
  • Anxiety
  • Mood swings
  • Worry
  • Inability to concentrate

What methods can you use to overcome these emotions caused by stress?

I highly recommend that you start your day with Kundalini Shaking exercise followed by deep relaxation by focusing on each body part and relaxing them while breathing slowly and deeply. In this video I explain how to do the Kundalini shaking exercise. Just watch the video and practice it daily with the music in the description or you can use any fast beat music that you like.

In my experience deep slow breathing is very effective, especially during stressful times. Count slowly to four as you inhale, and then count slowly to four as you exhale. As you exhale slowly, pay attention to how your body naturally relaxes. Recognizing this change will help you to relax even more.

You can also mentally scan your body. Notice areas that feel tense or cramped. Quickly loosen up these areas. Let go of as much tension as you can. Breathe into the tense areas and relax them as you exhale.

I made this relaxation video for you that you can use on a daily basis to let go of stress, anxiety and tension.

I hope this helps. You can also follow my online course with more exercises. Another great exercise for erectile dysfunction is the Kegel exercise. You can find my video explaining and demonstrating it in my online course here: https://shekinaray.com/online-course-shekina-ray which you can join for free for a limited time.
